About the photo: Bill and I attended the same conference in Louisville, Kentucky, during mid-March. We took our now ritualized photo excursion in the city. Bill and I tend to look at similar subjects when we photograph. We both like old buildings, rust, peeling paint. In other words, we like the historical aspects of a city. As we walked around taking photographs, we noted this building. It's filled with character. Peeling paint on cinder blocks. Green windows and green doors. I don't remember if the building was occupied, but it looked empty, empty for a long time.

I like how it looks like the hillside is swallowing the building, that swell on the left side of the photo.

Thanks, David. That’s one of the things I liked about the image, too.
